Thinlets Halloween

I can't tell you how excited I was about the new thinlets dies, they make life so much easier.  I was very jealous of our American friends who got them first.

I was chomping at the bit to try them out and here's the first card I made with them

I made this Halloween card for Scotty too Hotty's teacher.  It uses the Toil and Trouble stamp set and the new Witches Brew papers, these papers are fantastic I just love them.

The thinlets score and cut, and are so easy to use, plus you get an assortment of other die's in with it.

The sentiment is from the delightful dozen stamp set, I've just inked the edges of this with pumpkin pie ink.

Christmas Banner

One of the fab new items in the Autumn/ Winter catalogue is the fantastic banner kit.  I highly recommend it, it can be used for anything, birthdays, retirement, anniversarys, weddings anything.  I've used mine for Christmas and I got it from my wonderful upline Monica

I'm sorry but this project is very product heavy but well worth it I think.

The banners have been inked in gold using the sponge daubers, The letters have been cut out and mounted onto snowflakes cut out using the framelets in glitter cardstock, with a vintage button added for detail.  The rosette has a small glitter snowflake and is topped off with one of the frosted finishes.  The papers are from the season of style set and the ribbon ruffled at the top of the banner is the cherry cobbler stitched edge grosgrain.

In the middle is a bow again made with the season of style papers using the Gift Bow Bigz L die and hanging from that is two more snow flakes which are finished off with the frosted finishes.

007

Today I've had to leave my beloved stamping up stamps in favor of some toppers from Making Cards magazine.  It's my long suffering other half's birthday on Friday and I wanted to do something a little different for his card.  Because he likes rugby and was in the RAF he normally either gets planes or rugby balls on his cards lol,

It's a simple gatefold card done in whisper white and basic black, I've also added some of the new candy dots in black too.

Here's a closer look at whats on the mini circles.  I also did a lovely matching insert for it but wrote on it before I thought to photograph it, typical of me really.  Now Ray never reads my blog so it won't spoil the surprise for him, in fact I could get away with writing all sorts about him on here and he'd be none the wiser lol oooohhhhh sooooo tempting.

Papaya Collage #2

Hello, I hope the weather is a bit better where you are, we've had nothing but rain for the last few days. My brother, bless him, still came and sorted my garden out for me yesterday in all the pouring rain.  He's a star.

Well today's card, this one also using the Papaya Collage set.

I've used Primrose petals and gumball green ink on this one, again I cut out the frame to layer it up.  I also added some of the primrose petals ribbon.  The sentiment is from the Bring on the Cake stamp set.

The Bird is stamped in soft suede and I've added some gems to the top right hand corner of the frame and the top left hand corner of the card.

I also stamped inside the card. Hope you like it, if you would like any of the items used to make this card please click on the 'shop now' tab.

Papaya Collage

It's very windy and chilly here in deepest darkest Yorkshire today.  I think Autumn has finally descended upon us.

Today I'm going to share with you a card using the Papaya Collage set.

This card is again a 6 x6 and uses the retired tea for two papers, you could easily use the afternoon picnic papers with it as these are very similar.  I've cut the frame in the middle out and raised it on on pads to give the card a bit of dimension, It is a bit of a faf cutting the frame but well worth the effort. The leaves inside the frame are second stamped in soft suede.

The flower and the butterfly are both stamped in primrose petals, I've added some small pearls to the body of the butterfly.

I added another square of the papers to the inside and also re-stamped the rose.

Now for today's card, it again uses the Lovely as a tree stamp set

I've used the heat and stick again on this one with dazzling diamonds.  The tree is stamped in garden green. Here's a closer look

I think it's very effective, although I did get covered in glitter in the process and I resembled a 70's disco diva by the time I was finished lol.

The Sentiment is from more merry messages and I've added a few jewels to the corner for a bit of extra pop!

Christmas Gift Box

Today I'm going to share with you a lovely little gift box which I cased from the very lovely Julie Kettlewell

I've made it from the Winter Frost papers, the box is made from a single sheet of 12 x 12.  The belly band is made from vellum and stamped in silver with the Festive Flurry stamps.  I've then added the same stamp but this time stamped in pool party then with a smaller snowflake on top stamped in silver,  The sentiment is from Tags 4 you stamp set.

Inside it's just big enough to fit a small gift, I've added a pack of stamping up buttons to mine.

Best of all they store flat, so you can make up a lot and store them quite easily until you need them.

Another Lovely as a tree

It's raining today in deepest darkest Yorkshire and looking pretty glum. Today I'm going to share with you another lovely as a tree Christmas card.  I love this stamp set!

To make this card I stamped out the trees in always artichoke, then used the stamp a jig to re-stamped them using versamark, I then covered the trees in Heat and stick powder, heated it up and added dazzling diamonds and reheated it.

I added a frosted finish to the corner.  The sentiment is also stamped in Always Artichoke and is from the more merry messages stamp set.  A very simple card to do yet very effective.
