Bright Orange Ball of Light!!

Yes!  We've had a strange sighting here in deepest darkest Yorkshire.  A great big orange ball of light in the sky appeared yesterday, reliable sources say this is called The Sun!  And it seems to have surfaced today too!!lol

I hope you've had some sunshine where you are, to my readers abroad, England is not known for it's lovely sunny weather so I for one tend to get a bit giddy when the sun decides to surface.

Today's card is one I made for the card holder

Just look at my sparkly butterflies!  I used the crystal effects and whilst it was still wet sprinkled some dazzling diamonds on top.  This card was quite simple to make but very lovely to look at.

More Flutterbys

Well it was work yesterday for me, kids weren't so bad considering they'd just had a week off. and just 4 weeks and 3 days till Easter break lol

Today's little offering is a gift bag to match the card I showed you on Sunday

This time instead of inking the daisies with the ink pads and daubers I used the stampin write markers and as you can see it's a much better effect.  I just added a brad to the middle, it is a stampin up brad but unfortunately they are no longer available, which is a shame as it matches perfectly  as it has a little butterfly in the centre.

Flutterbyes

Well we didn't get the expected snow yesterday which was good.  We also have Scotty too Hotty this weekend which is an extra bonus, he's been walking round with his leopard hat on ready for the snow lol

Today's card is made using the Blossom punch

To make the butterfly you just cut off the top two petals ending the cut in a V shape and there you have a butterfly, I'd used gems for the body and antennae and have used the colours, chocolate chip, daffodil delight and whisper white. Look at the top right hand corner, I've added a little detail by just using the corner punch.

Blossom Punch 125603 £15.50

New beginings

Scotty too hotty has been a little sad this week as his friend is changing schools after half term, so to try and combat the blues we made him a card together

Now unfortunately the image isn't stampin up as we wanted to display the new uniform that Scott's friend would be wearing. This image  from LOTV was ideal for that purpose.  It's a 7x7 card and we decided to stick with two colours midnight muse and daffodil delight.  I've created the effect on the 'friend' sentiment just by cutting the decorative label in half and adding it to either end of the sentiment, which is from a now retired set, can you believe I didn't have a 'good luck' stamp!!.  We hope he likes it.

Spring Gifts

Yes I know I'm a little early for spring but it was such a lovely day here yesterday in deepest darkest Yorkshire that it made me feel all spring like.  Bit of a downer getting home and watching the weather only to be told theres another cold snap on it's way. :-(  Scotty too hotty finished his three little pigs story yesterday, he's based it on Roald Dahl's revolting rhymes so it had Little Red Riding Hood wandering off into the sunset with a brand new wolf skin coat and a lovely chic piggy skin handbag! If you've not read these fairy tales I highly recommend them, they are very funny.

So todays make is a little gift bag

I've used the secret Garden stamp set for this along with the butterfly's from the blooming Marvellous stamp set, Unfortunately you can't see the so saffron flowers very clearly in this pic and I've finished off the butterfly's with some pearls.

A Very Crafty Day

It was a very crafty day yesterday for Scott and I.  His Auntie gave him a till roll and asked him if he could write a really long story on it.  So he's on the job, he has started with the story of the three little pigs and was really disappointed yesterday when he's not finished it when it was time to go home.  He'll get to finish it today hopefully.

Meanwhile I was stamping candles again.  I just love the effect you get.

I've used the Blooming marvellous stamp set for these candles which is free during sale abration,  The inks used are so saffron, pool party and midnight muse.  These are very easy to make, you just stamp your design onto tissue paper, then place the tissue paper on to the candle, then wrap some grease proof paper tightly around the candle and heat up the stamped design with your heat gun, you can see the tissue paper 'turn' as it melts into the candle.  Why not give it a go?

Riding a Penny Farthing

First day of half term so I'm going to have my hands full today keeping Scotty too Hotty entertained.  We've got a day of card making planned, I'm going to get him to make up a batch that he can give out to his friends when their birthdays come around. :-)

Todays card uses the Feeling sentimental stamp set which is FREE during sale a bration when you spend at least £45!  I totally stole this card from fellow demonstrator Julie Kettlewell

I used soft suede and very vanilla .  I've used the new honey comb embossing folder from the spring mini and also used some of the Tea for Two DSP to lift it.  The sentiment is from the teeny tiny sentiments set.

I really like this card. Scotty too Hotty asked me if Granddad used to ride one of those to school lol I think I'll keep that to myself.

The Fishwife and Mr Mannewwing

Todays little offering is a gift bag inspired by the gift shop at artfuel which is called The Fishwife and Mr Mannewwing.

I got the idea for the lady from here and basially followed the same principal for Mr Mannewwing.  I used the medium oval for his hat and cut the same oval down for the peak on his cap.  I used this punch for the dry stone wall too

I've used, pretty in pink, soft suede, real red, basic black, basic grey sahara sand.

Valentines Day

Well I hope you have all been suitable spoilt today by your nearest and dearest.  I've been given chocolate, some lovely dress jewellery and some perfume.  Scotty too hotty made me an electronic card and message on his DS lol.

So todays card is a valentines card, I have totally stole this from a fellow demonstrator, I saw it and right away fell in love with it. You can see Teri's version here, you'll need to scroll down a bit to get to it.  Here's mine;

A lovely heart shaped easel card. I've used soft suede  real red, whisper white and old olive card,  I have used the heart shaped framelets and crochet trim round the edges of the heart, and the you are loved stamp set.

Now because I had those lovely roses on my card it also meant that I needed to make a box the house it.  When it comes to making a box and getting the sizes right my mind always seems to hit a blank, and yet I'm able to work out envelope sizes.  Luckily after posting that I needed some help the lovely Emily came to my rescue.  So here's the matching box;

I used chocolate chip for the box base on this one.

If you require any of the items made to used this card and box please email me your order

Birthday gift box

Well it's a very exciting day for me today, I have managed to obtain a studio with the Artfuel group and today they have their grand opening. This means that the public can come for a look around, meet the artists and find out about workshops and exhibitions that are going to be held there. Eventually they are hoping to open a little cafe there and there is already a shop where you can buy some of the artists work. It's from 2 to 8pm today so if you're in Doncaster why not pop along, Artfuel is situated in Portland Place, Portland Place is accessed from the roundabout on Trafford Way close to the train station. Turn onto Cleveland Street, then left onto Duke Street & left again through the archway into Spring Gardens and straight on towards the large public car park on the corner of Trafford Way. Artfuel is in the large brick building with towers to the right of the car park.

So on to Tina's gift box, which is just one of stampin up's kraft gift boxes decorated up.
I've used the same colour combo that I used on the card of midnight muse, so saffron and pool party, I've also used some of the silver glimmer paper to add a bit of bling and popped on two pool party buttons which are free as part of sale-a-bration if you spend £45, that I've used as a fastener I filled it full of jelly babies lol and there were also two candy watches to help Tina with her time keeping.

Dreams, sick children, new glasses and another birthday!

Well what a day yesterday, I was feeling much more like myself only to have scotty too hotty come down with the dreaded lurgie.  However it did give him time to make a valentines card for his girlfriend lol.   I also had to pick up my new glasses yesterday which are varifocals  They are making me feel very sick, which is apparently normal until I get used to them.  I have to remember to 'point my nose' to what I'm looking at rather than just moving my eyes.  And (you should never ever start a sentence with and lol) to top all this off I had a dream that David Cameron stole all my punches.  The Great Raymundo found this hilarious and asked me if I was trying to sign Mr Cameron up as a demonstrator.

Anyhoo on to the card.  I made this for my friend Tina,  she is the one friend who I can count on to get me into trouble ;) lots of it.  If there is a 'Thick of it' to be in it's a good bet it'll be me and Tina and it was her birthday last Friday.

I've used a combination of Pool Party, Midnight Muse and So Saffron card and ink.  I've used the Teeny Tiny sentiments Stamp set and the Bloomin Marvelous stamp set which you can get FREE! with an order of just £45 during the Sale-a-bration period. Punches I've used are the scalloped circle and circle, Scallop Trim Border, word window and Modern Label.

Next time I'll show you the gift box I made for her.  If you would like any of the items I used to make this card please email me.

A Birthday Friend

Well I'm feeling a little more like myself today, which means I can finish moving into my new craft studio, Yay!  The great Raymundo did some for me on Sunday but you know how it is, can't expect a man to get all the crafty bits right ;-)

Todays card was for a friend at work, we have a birthday fund where we all put in some money and on our birthday we get a card and some birthday dosh, lovely!  Myself and another cardmaker at work have been nominated to make the cards (I wonder why lol) but I'm flying solo at the moment as Judith my partner in crime is on the mend after an operation to her foot.  I did offer to fit a roller skate to it for her so she could come in but for some reason she wasn't so keen, I even offered to wheel her about which she was even less happy with, for the life of me I can't think why, anybody would think she didn't trust me ;-). The card I've made is for Julie who celebrated her birthday on 30th. Happy Birthday Julie!

So heres the card

I've used whisper white and Baja Breeze.  I used the edgelets to create the scalloped edge along the bottom of the baja breeze card.  I've stamped using baja breeze and midnight muse inks and finished it off with a bit of bling and some taffeta ribbon.  The stamp set used is the Blooming with Kindness set.

If you would like to email any of the items I used to make this card please email me
